On 17 March, the European Parliament in plenary session adopted its position on the controversial and incipient phenomenon of crypto-assets, intervening on the first accomplished proposal to regulate them (or rather, as we shall see, certain types of them) at European level set out in the Proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on Markets in Crypto-assets, and amending Directive (EU) 2019/1937 , (COM(2020) 593 final-2020/0265(COD), ("MICA"), of 24 September 2019.
