Covid-19 tracing apps: user rights and obligations

Immuni is the contact-tracking app chosen by the task force headed by Paola Pisano, Minister of Innovation, in a fast call which has identified 319 solutions for active monitoring and 504 for telemedicine. Immuni, which is currently in prototype stage, will be available for download on a smartphone or tablet, after a test, and then available to users. At the moment, little is known about how the app will exactly function, and the sensitive data management policy. Immuni is a publicly managed application, whereas other privately managed applications are already available in App Stores, and others might be marketed in the next few weeks. These would probably be apps for self-triage, continuous tracking of users, monitoring, and alerting, with timely checking of the level of exposure to risk of infection in people.
