On June 14, 2023, the European Parliament approved the AI ACT, intended to regulate the use of AI in the EU and limit its risky uses.

This is a historic day that grants the EU primacy in AI regulation globally and in fact gives it the lead role for U.S. and Chinese lawmakers who, through the so-called "Brussels effect," could adopt regulations inspired by the AI Act of the EU.
