New rules for influencers: AGCOM issues guidelines

On 10 January 2024, the Council of the Communications Guarantee Authority ('AGCOM') unanimously approved guidelines to ensure compliance by influencers with the provisions of the Audiovisual Media Services Consolidation Act. This is an important starting point towards recognising the activity of influencers as similar to providers of audiovisual media services, with editorial responsibility for content shared on platforms.
