Privacy and work: Data Protection Authority on biometric data protection

The Data Protection Authority imposes an administrative fine for the introduction – regarded as unlawful – of a biometric system for access control in the workplace. As a general rule, art.9., para. 1, of the GDPR prohibits the processing of special categories of personal data.
