The escalation of Bitcoins, Cryptocurrencies and ICOs gave rise to a number of issues and controversial debates for the lack of regulation in most jurisdictions. In some countries, regulators have officially banned the use of cryptocurrencies and ICOs, but regulators in the majority of jurisdictions have been discussing how to face this phenomenon under a legal and tax perspective. In the meanwhile, the Bitcoin and the Cryptocurrency markets have moved from one extreme to another and the legal and tax questions have increased massively.

  • What is the legal status of Cryptocurrencies in terms of compliance with the local regulations (if any, for example, in terms of financial services, AML)?
  • What are the local tax regimes?
  • What protection is available for the investors in crypto-assets?

This webinar will compare and contrast the evolving regulatory framework regarding Cryptocurrencies in three jurisdictions (Italy, Switzerland and Austria). Special focus is put on investment protection of the investors while waiting for fiscal and legal regulations.

Speaker panel:

  • Milena Prisco, CBA, Senior Associate
  • Elio Palmitessa, CBA, Senior Associate
  • Niklas Schmidt, Wolf Theiss, Partner
  • Lars Schlichting, Kellerhals Carrard, Partner

The webinar is scheduled for July 20th 2018, at 5 pm CET.

Places are limited, if you are interested in joining us, please fill in the form and we will be glad to send you the instructions to participate in the webinar.
