Because blockchains allow to trace the origin, the production, processing and distribution chain of a particular product, they may prove suitable to strengthen reliance between producers and consumers, to avoid frauds and counterfeiting and to enhance food biodiversity. Nevertheless, investments and tighter cooperation are needed.
